The eighth edition of the Basketball Champions League already features two players breaking the 1,000-point mark, Vojtech Hruban and Giorgi Shermadini.
Piling up 157 points this season, Levi Randolph is more than likely to follow.

The chase is on
Hruban, 34, is leading the pack of sharpshooters. However, averaging just over eight points per contest with Cholet generates catching-up momentum for Shermadini and Randolph. Overcoming a leg injury would put the longtime leader of JDA Dijon, David Holston on a similar path.
The club located in Western France ranked third in Group I at the midway point of the Round of 16 in contrast to Randolph’s Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem and Shermadini’s Lenovo Tenerife leading in Group K. The current situation hints at more games and potential additional scoring opportunities for the players ranking second and third.
A leading member of CEZ/ERA Nymburk in six BCL campaigns, the experienced Czech swingman was the go-to guy in offense and set the pace on the all-time scoring list over the years. After sitting out the 2022-23 season, his return pushed back the passing of the torch. Far from a role similar to Nymburk at Cholet, he seems destined to surrender the top spot.
The direct collision
Reuniting with Tenerife after a narrow victory in the Semifinals of the 2023 Final Four, the Jerusalem outfit enjoyed a blowout win on Wednesday. Randolph piling up 21 points sailed closer to the 1,000-point milestone and also tied Marcus Foster for the most BCL showings with at least 20 points at 17.
“We have a team where everybody wants to continue to get better, no matter how the game goes,” he focused on the team mentality following the impressive showing against the two-time BCL champions, “I know my guys are still going to go out there and get better tomorrow. That is just how we are. We do not get complacent. We continue to work.”
Sidigas Avellino, Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari, SIG Strasbourg, and Filou Oostende are all previous stops in the Champions League for the former Alabama standout. Averaging 17.4 points per game in his sixth BCL campaign and second with his current club, approaching his career-high 18.1 points as a member of Oostende, boosts his bid to become the all-time leading scorer.
Shermadini, 34, scored 12 points in the heaviest BCL defeat of Tenerife. Running it back for a fifth year in FIBA Europe’s top-tier club continental competition, the Georgian center has registered 13.2 points per game.
