EuroLeague brackets by Eurohoops editors predict several upsets

Following the Regular Season and the newly-introduced Play-In Showdown of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, it is time for the Playoffs from April 23 to May 8 and from there to the Final Four between May 24 and 26.

Which team will lift the EuroLeague trophy in Berlin’s Uber Arena?

Editors across all Eurohoops editions, global, Greek, Turkish, Spanish, and Russian, presented their predictions. Naturally, the 25 brackets vary to a large extent.

PLAYOFFS (best-of-five)

(1) REAL MADRID – (8) BASKONIA

Real Madrid is done experimenting. According to the 25 Eurohoops experts voting 100% in favor of the meeting of ACB rivals. Perdonanos Baskonia.

(2) PANATHINAIKOS AKTOR- (7) MACCABI PLAYTIKA TEL AVIV

Panathinaikos Aktor is backed by all Eurohoops writers in a bid for a berth in the Final Four for the first time since 2012. Almost everyone, because one predicted Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv advancing.

(3) AS MONACO – (6) FENERBAHCE BEKO

Oh là là Fenerbahce Beko for 76% of the Eurohoops editors. AS Monaco finished third in the Regular Season, but the Turkish club is looking to return to the Final Four for the first time since 2019.

(4) FC BARCELONA – (5) OLYMPIACOS

Three straight Final Four appearances for FC Barcelona and two in a row for Olympiacos, but only one side fits in the 2024 season-ending tournament. “¡Vamos Olympiacos!” voted 72% of the Eurohoops writers.

SEMIFINAL A

From 100% in the Playoffs to 76% to reach the championship game, the 25 Eurohoops experts extend support to Madrid, regardless of the opponent in the Semifinals.

SEMIFINAL B

The 25 Eurohoops writers are largely split between Fener and Panathinaikos in predictions for which teams progress to the Final. One vote separated the Turkish club from the Greens.

FINAL

Foreseeing the next EuroLeague champion was another tough nut to crack for the 25 Eurohoops editors. The defending champions going back-to-back earned a slight advantage versus Fenerbahce returning to the top after 2017. Greek giants Panathinaikos and Olympiacos also got votes. One bracket leading the archrivals to the Final fell short of predicting a winner.
