We’re entering mid-July, the Olympic Games are getting closer, and therefore a busy summer for players representing their countries. After that, however, in just a matter of a couple of months, the EuroLeague comes back.
While the vast majority of teams have already made the right adjustments for their respective rosters ahead of the 2024-25 season, there are still some high-level players on the market throughout Europe.
After listing the Top 10 free agents in the point guard, shooting guard, small forward, power forward, and center position before the start of the transfer market, let’s now take a look at the Top 10 for the remaining free agents in all positions that could start from a new place in next year’s EuroLeague.
Will Clyburn
Age: 34
Last season: 25 games, 13.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists
Will Clyburn has been vocal about being the best small forward in Europe. It is indeed pretty hard to debate his opinion.
At the end of his contract with Anadolu Efes, an intriguing free agent. Any team picking up the native of Detroit would immediately boost a bid to contend for the EuroLeague championship.
Following a breakout campaign with Darussafaka, he moved his talents to CSKA in 2017. In 2019, he was crowned EuroLeague champion. In 2022, he joined Anadolu Efes to partner with Shane Larkin and Vasilije Micic.
Jordan Loyd
Age: 30
Last season: 20 games, 10.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists
Spending the last two years at AS Monaco, various injuries slowed down Jordan Loyd. He was limited to 20 appearances in the 2023-24 season.
The former NBA champion in 2019 has become a veteran of five seasons in the EuroLeague, including multiple solid showings helping the Monegasque side reach the 2023 Final Four. Instead of dominating the ball, he was effective in complementing leading teammates, Mike James and Elie Okobo.
Set to become a free agent this summer, his qualities naturally attract several EuroLeague clubs’ attention.
Serge Ibaka
Age: 34
Last season: 28 games, 12.6 points (48% 3pts), 6.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.2 blocks
From a solid run in the NBA to the EuroLeague, Serge Ibaka opted to move to Germany and join FC Bayern Munich. A quick adjustment led him from simply displaying well-known talents to becoming a new team leader.
Helping Pablo Laso’s side on both ends of the court, his experience from the NBA and international basketball came in handy, and so did his three-pointers.
At 34, he was brilliant in his first full campaign in Europe’s premier club continental competition.
Shabazz Napier
Age: 32
Last season: 16 games, 10.9 points, 2.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists
A turbulent year saw Shabazz Napier penning a two-year contract with Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet in the summer and returning to EA7 Emporio Armani Milan in December.
Following the conclusion of the 2022-23 season, he left the team based in Milan. Signing with the Belgrade outfit generated excitement but did not meet expectations en route to an early exit. Reuniting with Olimpia Milan, he displayed his talents but lacked consistency.
Sticking around at the capital of fashion with a new contract is uncertain at this point. As a free agent, he will be on the radar of several EuroLeague teams for the point guard position.
John Brown III
Age: 32
Last season: 36 games, 6.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.1 steals
At first glance, specifically at his game stats, John Brown III seems an average player. But we are talking about a seasoned player, one of the most efficient power forwards of the EuroLeague.
The secret behind the success of AS Monaco over the last two years is aggressive defense. Brown can defend one through five. And is near perfect. His athleticism and reach is an issue for every opponent.
If he does not reach an agreement to renew his contract with Monaco, his free-agent status will immediately attract the attention of numerous potential suitors.
James Nunnally
Age: 33
Last season: 32 games, 12.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists
Another solid small forward in the free-agent market, James Nunnally spent the last two years with Partizan Mozzart Bet, reuniting with legendary play-caller Zeljko Obradovic.
Other former EuroLeague teams are Maccabi Tel Aviv, Olimpia Milan, and Fenerbahce.
At 33, being efficient on both ends of the court makes him an interesting case for top clubs of the EuroLeague.
Justin Anderson
Age: 30
Last season: 18 games, 6.1 points, 2.2 rebounds
Landing in Valencia with a short-term contract in December, Justin Anderson earned a roster spot for the remainder of the season.
The former Virginia standout started his first overseas experience with Rio Breogan, playing in the Basketball Champions League and Spain’s Liga Endesa. From there to 6.1 points and 2.2 rebounds per contest over 18 games played in the EuroLeague.
Recently, he was officially waived by the Spanish side which will play in the BKT EuroCup next year.
Elie Okobo
Age: 26
Last season: 37 games, 11.0 points, 2.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists
After two seasons at Monaco, Elie Okobo is set to test free agency during the offseason.
Despite violating internal rules and dealing with a suspension midway through the 2023-24 season, he bounced back confirming himself among the key offensive options for head coach Sasa Obradovic.
He ended up second behind Mike James in points per game and covered for his teammate taking over a prominent scoring role in most of the contests in the best-of-five series opposite Fener.
Struggling to connect from beyond the arc, he finished his third EuroLeague campaign with 30.1% from deep.
He would be an excellent addition to other clubs, but the former player of the Phoenix Suns is expected to sign a new contract with La Roca Team.
Carsen Edwards
Age: 26
Last season: 34 games, 11.5 points, 1.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists
With the potential of elevating to a premium player in the Old Continent, Carsen Edwards has yet to meet expectations after two EuroLeague seasons.
From Fenerbahce Beko, he signed with FC Bayern Munich last summer. The former Purdue standout had a leading role but lacked consistency in scoring.
In Germany or elsewhere, packing an explosive first step and release, he seems destined to make things happen in the EuroLeague. Sooner or later.
Bryant Dunston
Age: 38
Last season: 36 games, 4.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1 assists
A two-time EuroLeague champion with Efes, Bryant Dunston has been starring in Europe’s premier club continental competition for over a decade.
Coming out of Fordham in 2008, he focused on Europe to pursue a professional career. Since 2013, he is a regular in the EuroLeague.
He went from two years with Olympiacos to spending the next eight at the Istanbul outfit, before joining Virtus Segafredo Bologna on a one-year contract last summer.
Becoming a free agent and finding a new landing spot in the EuroLeague at 38 is far from a simple task.
For contenders seeking depth for the 2024-25 edition of the EuroLeague, Dunston seems perfect. Besides being past the peak of his career, pulling down rebounds and protecting the paint never get old.
