Preparing for his third campaign with Olympiacos, Alec Peters sat down with Eurohoops and opened up about his feelings at the end of the 2023-24 season.

After winning the preseason Super Cup and the midseason Cup, his side settled for third place in the 2024 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four and went on to fall to archrival Panathinaikos Aktor in a best-of-five Stoiximan GBL championship series, despite winning the first two games.

“It is obvious for me,” he replied about hoping to return the favor, heading to the 2024 Super Cup and a projected meeting with the Greens in the Final on Sunday.

“We went home almost sick this summer, having been up 2-0 and losing that lead. And it still brings a little bit of a burning sensation to my stomach by thinking about it,” continued Peters, “That feeling I felt for that first month of knowing how we just kind of gave it away and knowing that we get to meet them again so soon.”

“I hope that that feeling sticks with us and sticks with the other guys as well because we are here to throw our punch back at them,” added the 29-year-old forward.

The next edition of Greece’s Super Cup tips off on Saturday. The Reds face Peristeri Domino’s and Panathinaikos is against Aris Midea.

“It is that point in the season, it is time to get real competitive, it is time for the competitive juices to start flowing again,” said Peters.
