Coming out of a successful 2023-24 campaign with Panathinaikos Aktor capturing the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague championship and being crowned champion in Greece as well, Kendrick Nunn is back for more.

Nunn, 29, sat down with Eurohoops to talk about staying with the Greens, a missing MVP award, Olympiacos securing the services of Evan Fournier, and much more.

“I feel like I was the MVP of the season. As simple as that,” he confidently ranked his contributions to winning the continental and domestic titles, “I came and changed the team around, gave us the spark, the energy we needed, gave confidence to my teammates, and got it done on both ends of the floor.”

Confirming his own words about being the best offensive player in the EuroLeague, he went on to first place in the annual Top 50 Players list powered by Eurohoops.

During the interview, the Chicago native opened up about the lack of NBA offers during the offseason, which would potentially make him consider using the NBA out option on his contract.

Moving to the 2024-25 campaign with the team coached by Ergin Ataman, he reiterated excitement about the seventh EuroLeague title in team history but also stressed wanting to add more.

“It was easy for me to come back. I am looking forward to doing it again with my teammates,” he said.

The archrival of the Greens, Olympiacos was another interesting topic.

“I want the smoke,” Nunn told Eurohoops referring to the Reds improving the roster, “The better competition, it brings the best out of me and my guys. It is just fun. It is competition.”

“He is a veteran player,” he added on Fournier, “That was a great move by them. They brought a great player over here with some experience. And they needed it. They obviously want to win as well. So, they got to bring in some better players.”

“There are guys in the G League that are grinding their way up, trying to get to the NBA, but is a different level over here,” said the veteran of 212 NBA games, chipping in the recent conversations about the second-best league in the world, “The combination of guys and teams, here it is a lot more physical. There is a ton of talent in the G League. For me, EuroLeague is the second-best league in the world.”
