Carmelo Anthony is an NBA legend and a Hall-of-Famer in the making. He is also, however, FIBA Melo.

The iconic sharpshooter of Team USA was part of the bronze medal-winning team in the 2004 Athens Olympics and of the bronze medal-winning team in the 2006 FIBA World Cup.

He was also part of the Redeem team in 2008, winning three gold Olympic medals in 2008, 2012, and 2016.

As an ambassador of the upcoming FIBA World Cup, Carmelo Anthony met with Eurohoops during the Paris Olympics, took a stroll down memory lane remembering the good and the bad, and admitted that after losing in 2006, what he said to himself was simple: “I never want to experience this feeling again”.

He didn’t, but he also admits that Greece gave TEAM USA a lesson and he also feels that the US mentality towards the national team is changing and shortly we will see the top stars playing in the FIBA tournaments and not only in the Olympics since you need to commit for a long time to win.

Melo also talks about his game and the importance of shooting, FIBA KD who broke his three-pointer record with Team USA, and his role as a FIBA World Cup ambassador.
