The headline can be misleading. Of course, we would place Sasha Vezenkov on our EuroLeague Fantasy team when he became available to Olympiacos head coach Giorgos Bartzokas. However, there is a reason for the lack of any doubt about him rejoining our squad.
Rolling into Round 13 of the 2024-25 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season, the top half of a two-game week, Vezenkov is back for the Reds.
Replacing the 29-year-old forward, we went with Olympiacos teammate Alec Peters. Costing only nine units, he delivered performance index ratings of 14 and 20. A brilliant sum in his price range.
The Valparaiso product is now out with Vezenkov resurfacing in our Fantasy team with twice his price.
Spending 18.1 units for one player is far from a simple task, but we are talking about the second-best EuroLeague Fantasy player since Nikola Mirotic took the lead during the absence of the international player with Bulgaria.
Consequently, we were forced to sell an expensive guard in necessary adjustments. Fortunately, we were quick to pick up Filip Petrusev, before him boosting his performance and his price to 10.5 units.
The Serbian big remains a solid option as he is playing like his former teammate Vezenkov. We got him at 7.9 units.
There is little room for error with Vezenkov reclaiming the captain spot on our Fantasy team. Against Peristeri Domino’s in Round 8 of Greece’s Stoiximan GBL Regular Season on Sunday, he seemed fully recovered from the toe injury. The next challenge is looking to destroy the defense of friend and mentor Vassilis Spanoulis against AS Monaco in Salle Gaston Medecin.
Enter Arturs Zagars
Through budget adjustments, we added Arturs Zagars. The Latvian guard of Fenerbahce Beko is affordable and is coming off a great game last week. Despite Wade Baldwin IV returning to action from an injury, he remains in the rotation of Sarunas Jasikevicius.
Other injuries across the backcourt of Fener boost the playing time of Zagars. At 7.6 units, he is a very good and cheap option.
