The well-known sharp shooter is one the main reasons for Peristeri staying alive in the Basketball Champions League race

It’s the basketball age of the three-point shooting, and none other than Jarell Eddie can be a better argument for that in the Basketball Champions League.

Throughout his career, the 33-year-old forward was always a gifted sniper. When he moved from the NBA to Europe back in the summer of 2018 this was his calling card, playing for SIG Strasbourg, Murcia, Fenerbahce, San Pablo Burgos, Konyaspo,r and U-BT Cluj-Napoca.

This year, he is playing for Peristeri and when he is hot, his team can’t be defeated. So far there are in total 24 players in the BCL shooting 50% or better in three-pointers.

However, Eddie not only shoots 50%, but he is also making 3.8 per game in 7.6 attempts. The sample of five games is small, still, you can’t overlook that Eddie has already made 19 threes, more than any other player in the competition.

Putting the pressure on… Olympiacos

Jarrell Eddie’s best game in the season so far came on the road against EuroLeague contender Olympiacos. Peristeri was ultimately defeated (84-78) but Eddie put on a show with 31 points on 7.11 triples.

Thanks to his hot hand, Peristeri had the lead almost for 35 minutes in the game.

In his previous seasons in the BCL, Eddie had 19 threes made on 38% efficiency during nine games of the 2018-19 season and 11 threes in just three games for the unlucky due to injury 2021-22 season on 52% shooting, playing for SIG Strasbourg in both cases.

So third time might be a charm since Eddie has already tied the productivity of his best BCL season and seems to be more mature and more ready to be a leader.

After all thanks to his 27 points on 8/14 threes, Peristeri managed to beat Manisa making a first big step towards qualification for the next phase.

And if Eddie continues to shoot like this, then who knows what might happen in the future…
