Eurohoops scanned the rosters of every team in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague to keep the nationalities of each player and present the findings.
Players from the United States are the leading force in numbers.
Following the first half of the 34-game schedule of the Regular Season, Eurohoops reviewed every single player and ranked them by nationality based on their country of birth instead of additional nationalities acquired by several players.
In total, 261 players have been featured so far in the 2024-25 edition of Europe’s premier club continental competition. These are the players we considered.
Players parting with their EuroLeague club, like Saben Lee, were not considered. Players registered but sidelined through Round 17, such as Nick Calathes and Keenan Evans, were also excluded.
Players switching EuroLeague teams were counted in their first club, Wenyen Gabriel with Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv and Trevion Williams with ALBA Berlin.
Players from the USA in this season’s EuroLeague, including Kendrick Nunn, Mike James, T.J. Shorts II and Carsen Edwards, amount to 74. France ranks second with 27 players.
The peculiar situations
Despite most teams navigating the demanding schedule with native players and American imports, some teams create notable exceptions.
Real Madrid is the only team without a player from the United States in any EuroLeague game. In contrast, Olympiacos, Fenerbahce Beko, Anadolu Efes, and Maccabi carried the most, six apiece.
The lack of Spanish players featuring for Baskonia makes the Vitoria-Gasteiz outfit a unique look in the league. On the opposite end, Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet has used nine players from Serbia.
Stretching to Oceania, the representation of the continent relies solely on ALBA. Those two players are Will McDowell-White from Australia and Yanni Wetzell from New Zealand. Also, the team based in Berlin has used the most European players, 12.
Serbia completes the Top 3
A total of 45 countries have at least one player with one appearance in the 2024-25 installment of the EuroLeague. Following the USA and France, Serbia ranks third with 19 players.

Four continents in the EuroLeague
Naturally, Europe leads in the list of most players from each continent. A total of 147 European players outnumber Americas, Africa, and Oceania combined. Asia is not on the list.
