Without putting it on the headlines, all the international All-Stars are members of one team this year

Luka Doncic not being an All-Star created a paradox in this year’s event. Yes, no matter what Luka will be missed, but if he was also in, we could have an All-International Team Chuck.

After the All-Star Draft, the three All-Star teams of the new format are known.

It might be a coincidence but all international players are part of Team Chuck and Team Chuck only.

Maybe Sir Charles Barkley loves the international game, and maybe the international stars are too good to pass up. However, out of the eight players that Barkley picked, seven represent countries outside the US borders, with Donovan Mitchell being the only exception.

If Doncic was in, maybe Team Chuck would have eight non-US players and should be renamed to World All-Stars.

Ultimately, we have one Greek, one Serb, one Turk, one Frenchman, a Canadian, a Cameroonian, and a Dominican playing together, and only Siakam has not yet represented his country in any FIBA tournament.

This makes a very interesting mix and if Team Chuck ends in the final or ultimately wins the All-Star Game tournament, since there’s also a new format, next year we may end up with a proper US vs the World format, which quite recently in Paris commissioner Adam Silver admitted that’s not off the table.
