From the Qualification Rounds to 32 teams in the Regular Season and from the Play-Ins to the Round of 16, the playing field of the Basketball Champions League is about to shrink to eight teams. Those will be the remaining contenders for the championship.
It has certainly been an exciting ride since the launch of the ninth installment of the Champions League in September. The next step is removing pool play and entering a best-of-three series in the Quarterfinals and then a single-elimination format in the Final Four to crown a new champion.
First, the Round of 16 comes to an end next week with Gameday 6, the finale of six-game double-legged round-robin schedule deciding the owners of the five remaining tickets to the penultimate stage of the 2024-25 season.
Which teams will join AEK Betsson, La Laguna Tenerife, and Unicaja in the Quarterfinals?
Here are the possible scenarios for Aliaga Petkimspor, BAXI Manresa, Bertram Derthona Tortona, ERA Nymburk, FIT/One Wurzburg Baskets, Galatasaray, Nanterre 92, Rytas, UCAM Murcia, and UnaHotels Reggio Emilia to extend their continental campaigns into the next round of the BCL.
