Fenerbahce made things easy in the 87-72 win over Crvena Zvezda. And while Ekpe Udoh had a night to remember, the Greek guard is establishing himself as the key in Fenerbahce‘s offense.
Just 15 days ago coach Zeljko Obradovic stated in the Greek national television without leaving any room for misinterpretation: “Sloukas is our leader!”
And that was what Sloukas wished for when he left Olympiacos for Istanbul. To be the player that ignites the offense and taking decisions.
Last season, he had his share of ups and downs and that had a lot to do with his injury woes. However, during the Berlin Final Four it was obvious that he was ready to step up.
This season is different. Sloukas rested during the summer, he is at full health and the results are obvious. Last night he had 10 points on just 5 shots, 9 assists and 3 rebounds, while also making 3 turnovers.
What he did against Crvena Zvezda improved his stats even more. As you will see below, Kostas Sloukas is not having only the best season of his career so far, but the improvement of his numbers is amazing.
Not only in points, but also in three-point shooting efficiency and assists he is having the best games of his life and that’s what Fenerbahce needs in order to get to the end.
