Picking the players was not easy. The editorial team’s 30 writers across all of Eurohoops’ editions – Greek, English, Turkish, Spanish, Russian, German – gave votes to as many (30) players from this season’s EuroLeague, but in the end the Top 10 stood out and then some.
ALL-EUROLEAGUE SECOND TEAM
KEVIN PANGOS
Zalgiris | Guard | 1.88 | 26/01/1993 | Canada
12.7 points | 2.7 rebounds | 6 assists | 0.7 steals | 0.1 blocks | 2.5 turnovers | 27:32 minutes | 14.1 PIR
In his second season in the EuroLeague, Kevin Pangos has a better understanding of the competition’s demands and has become one of Zalgiris’s protagonists in their return to the Final Four after 19 years. The proof of this is that he leads his team in points and assists (third in the competition) but also the array of career-highs in points (22), rebounds (7), assists (15) and the index rating (28).
SERGIO RODRIGUEZ
CSKA Moscow | Guard | 1.91 | 12/06/1986 | Spain
14.1 points | 2.1 rebounds | 5 assists | 0.9 steals | 0.1 blocks | 2.2 turnovers | 26:03 minutes | 14.3 PIR
It was already known that the MVP of the 2014 season does many things on the court – and does them well – but this time he went a step further. His first season in Moscow is also his most productive in eight seasons in the competition (third in points and first in assists for CSKA), where he also achieved new career highs in points (26) and the index rating (36) from the victorious playoffs against their neighbors, Khimki.
NANDO DE COLO
CSKA Moscow | Guard | 1.96 | 23/06/1987 | France
16.9 points | 2.3 rebounds | 3.9 assists | 1.3 steals | 0.1 blocks | 2.3 turnovers | 25:46 minutes | 19.8 PIR
Nando De Colo knows how to stand out in a team full of stars like few others and this season is no different. He’s first in points and steals and second in assists for CSKA Moscow, but also second in points, third in steals and the index rating in the EuroLeague. And this is not even his best season in the competition. That was 2016 when he won the MVP award.
