Once more Eurohoops presents you with five performances in the European domestic leagues which should not be overlooked. Familiar faces, which may not compete in the continental competition, or established stars who are woking also on weekends, have produced some amazing numbers.
In some cases, those numbers were not enough for a win, but they were enough in order to make history.
Dylan Ennis (Andorra, ACB) – 36 points
Dylan Ennis notched not one but two new Spanish ACB League franchise records for Andorra in Saturday’s (13/10) 77 – 82 home loss to Manresa.
By dropping 36 points (7/9 two-pointers, 3/6 threes, 16/17 free throws), Ennis set a new franchise scoring record but that wasn’t the end of his historic performance. The Canadian guard also grabbed five rebounds, dished out three assists and won 12 (!) fouls for 48 in evaluation. A number which also marks a new best for the club in Liga Endesa, per ACB.
Vasilije Micic (Anadolu Efes, BSL) – 28 points
Vasilije Micic finished with a game-high of 28 points for Anadolu Efes and dished seven assists in the crucial Turkish BSL win against Darussafaka Tekfen (75-72). Micic made 9/14 FG and he missed just one free throw (7/8).
It’s a career best for Micic in the Turkish BSL and of course one his best scoring outputs ever, considering the fact that his EuroLeague career high is 20 points. And once more he proved that after his previous season with Zalgiris Kaunas, he is ready to take the next big step in his career and change level.
Darrun Hilliard (Baskonia, ACB) – 24 points
The former Spur stole the show in Spain and got the MVP title over Ennis, because his team won and Andorra was defeated. Baskonia destroyed Fuenlabrada by 50 points (110-60) and Hilliard scored 24 points on five threes in just 17:35 minutes of action.
It was an amazing performance.
