This time around though, we will focus on single players that have managed to stand out throughout the rounds with their performances, regardless of their team’s result or league.
On to this week’s list…
Kevin Pangos – Barcelona (ACB League)
The 25-year-old Canadian/Slovenian posted a career-high performance against Joventut, pushing Barcelona to an overtime victory that keeps the team intact in the Spanish League standings.
Pangos scored 32 points (9/14 f.g., 12/13 f.t.) in his best night with Barcelona to date, along with four assists and two rebounds. Not only did he break his personal record, but was the leading scorer of the league for gameday six.
Toney Douglas – Sakarya (BSL)
Another career-high performance occurred this weekend, as Toney Douglas led Sakarya past Anadolu Efes, that suffered its first defeat in the Turkish League this season.
The 32-year-old combo guard paced his team with 36 points (13/15 f.g., 3/3 f.t.), seven assists and four rebounds in Istanbul, as Sakarya enjoyed its second victory of the season.
Alex Renfroe – Manresa (ACB League)
Manresa cruised past Murcia and remains in the top eight teams of the Spanish League standings, paced by a 28-point show by the 32-year-old guard.
Renfroe was hot from the three-point line, adding five out of his six attempts, while he also handed seven assists and grabbed two boards, adding up to 32 points of index rating, just two points behind the MVP of the day, Bojan Dubljevic.
