On the modern basketball era, sports analytics are more than crucial in order to understand the game. While simple statistics are the basic metrics of the game, analytics can expand the coverage and the comprehension of the sport, unveiling crucial details which explain more than meet the eye.
That’s why Eurohoops felt the need to expand its coverage. We are happy to announce that we are joining forces with “Statathlon” in order to provide you refined data which can explain in detail everything that’s happening on the European basketball courts.
About Statathlon
Statathlon is a sports Analytics startup company that helps the sports teams understand, interpret and utilize the athletic and bio-athletic data they collect improving their competitiveness and facilitate talent Development.
The team provides with Strategic, Tactical and Technical Performance Analysis during the season by integrating and analyzing the bio-mechanic, psychometric and In-Game data that the team already collects through its staff and/or partnerships. The company also assist young athletes accelerate their sport-specific growth through the use of Statistical Analysis.
The scientific team of Statathlon has already worked with 2 Professional teams and 1 Academy in Europe providing actionable answers in specific questions regarding the team’s performance and injuries. Since the previous April, the project is included as one of the Top-15 Rising Sports Analytics startups in Europe (KPMG, 04/2018). The company is based in Greece and the UK and has been established in October of 2017. Currently, the team has 6 members around Europe. The team’s activities are currently focused on Basketball and Football.
The project is also part of the distinguished accelerator program in the United Kingdom, the Sports Tech Hub (by London Sport).
