Real Madrid won the Euroleague after 20 years but they want to win the Spanish championship so they can get the triple crown for the first time in 41 years! Take a look at all the winners.
The European champions are facing a huge challenge as Real was the first team that won the European championship but also the double in their country in 1965! They did it once again in 1974 and since then there hasn’t been any other season in which they got they were the absolute winners. Actually, this year they have also won the Super Cup so they are… a title away from/ for the 4/4!
The most successful team with 6 triple crowns, as well as their European trophies, is Maccabi. The Israelis have won the double every time they have reached the top of Europe with last year’s season being the last time they did so.
Following, Panathinaikos, Yugoplastika and Varese are the only teams aside from Real Madrid that have won the triple crown three times. The following teams have done so once: CSKA (on most occasions when they won the Euroleague a Russian Cup was not held), Barcelona, Virtus Bologna, Olympiacos, Partizan, Milano and Cibona.
