As Brose Baskets announced two of the key members of the club will stay in the roster for one more year. Those are Brad Wanamaker and Janis Strelnieks.
The official announcement is the following: “Wanamaker and Strelnieks helped Bamberg win the German League title and reach the German Cup finals and the Eurocup elimination rounds last season. Wanamaker (1.93 meters, 25 years old) averaged 12.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 6.4 assists in 18 Eurocup games last season. He tied for sixth place in performance index rating (18.2 per game), led the 2014-15 Eurocup in steals (2.1 spg.) and was second in assists. Wanamaker was chosen as the German League finals MVP. He played for Varese and Pistoia in Italy and Limoges CSP in France before joining Bamberg. Strelnieks (1.91 meters, 25 years old) averaged 12.6 points and 3.4 assists in 18 Eurocup games this season. He played for Budivelnik Kiev in Ukraine, Spartak St. Petersburg in Russia and Ventspils in his native Latvia before joining Bamberg last season.
“I am especially pleased to play in the Euroleague,” Strelnieks said. “In addition, I will play another season for Andrea Trinchieri, which was the main reason why I came to Bamberg last year.” “It is an honor to be allowed to play here next season,” Wanamaker said. “I want to experience that feeling again and will do everything I can to make sure we get another title in this great city.”
