Valencia didn’t wait until midnight, but already matched the offer made to Victor Claver by Baskonia, according to the right of “tanteo”. And now the whole situation gets a lot more interesting.
Valencia can keep the player, unless Baskonia negotiate a buy out for his rights. However there’s also the scenario of him signing a contract outside the Spanish borders, in which case Valencia’s offer will not be signed by him. So nothing at this point can be considered a given, considering also the fact that Valencia seems more interested in keeping the rights of the player for the Spanish Liga Endesa, than using him next season.
