Coach Dimitris Priftis will remain on the bench of Aris BC for the next two seasons. Despite the offers by Alba Berlin and by Banvit, the club announced that there’s a deal between the two sides.
Priftis is considered one of the main reasons behing the success of Aris on the court during the past two seasons and he was rewarded with a total salary which is rumored to be around 200.000 euros.
Born in 1968 Priftis worked in the past as the head coach of Kavala, Ikaros Kallitheas and Kolossos Rodou. Priftis then became an assistant coach at Panathinaikos in 2014 under Fragkiskos Alvertis. Since the start of the 2014-15 season he became the head coach of Aris.
Priftis also worked as an assistant coach of the senior men’s Greek national basketball team between 2008 and 2012, and in 2014 at the 2014 FIBA World Cup.
