Oliver Lafayette joins Unicaja

Oliver Lafayette will join Unicaja Malaga as Valencia didn’t match the offer to the player before the suggested deadline.

The 32 years old guard arrives to Unicaja from Armani Milano, where he averaged 8.4 points, 3.1 assists and 1.9 steals in 9 Eurocup games last season. He also played the 2015-16 Euroleague with Milan, averaging 7.3 points and 2.1 assists in 10 games. Lafayette helped Milan win both the Italian league and cup titles last season.

He had played for Unicaja’s head coach Joan Plaza in the 2012-13 season, during which the team won the Lithuanian League title.

Lafayette has also played for Correcaminos UAT Victoria and Vaqueros de Agua Prieta of Mexico, Erie Bay ans Fort Wayne of the D-League, Boston, Partizan Belgrade, Maccabi Ashdod, Asseco Prokom Gdynia, Anadolu Efes, Valencia Basket and Olympiacos. He helped Valencia win the Eurocup title in 2014. Lafayette also won the Greek League title and reached the Euroleague final with Olympiacos in 2015.
