VEF Riga announced the signing of Janis Blums with a press conference earlier this morning. The 34–year–old Latvian guard spent last season in Avellino in Italy, coming from Panathinaikos.
Blums began his career in 1999 in Broceni in Latvia and since then he has played for Skonto, Wloclawek, Ventspils, Lietuvos Rytas, Napoli, Bilbao and Astana. The well–experienced player is also the captain of the Latvian National Team.
He is set to return to the Latvian league after 10 years.
