FC Bayern Munich boosted its frontcourt by inking center Ondrej Balvin to a two-year contract with an option for an extra season.
Balvin (2.17 meters, 23 years old) arrives from Baloncesto Sevilla, where he played for the last six seasons. He averaged 9.6 points and 7.4 rebounds in 34 Spanish League games last season, leading the competition in dunks (2.32 per game). Balvin helped Sevilla reach the Eurocup title game in 2011, even when he only saw a total playing time of 3 seconds that season.
He has reached 108 points and 95 rebounds in 26 Eurocup career games. Balvin pulled down 19 boards in a game against Nymburk, the third-best single-game rebounding effort in competition history. He also played for USK Prague and has been a member of the Czech Republic’s national team.
