Gran Canaria announced that American shooting guard Kyle Kuric will remain in the team for the upcoming season, after agreeing to a one-year contract extension with the club.
Kuric arrived in Las Palmas two years ago from Estudiantes and was quickly assimilated in the team quite successfully, helping Gran Canaria reach the Eurocup 2015 Final.
Last year he had to enter perhaps the most difficult battle in his life, one not for a basketball game, but for his health. After being diagnosed with a brain meningioma, he undergone a series of surgeries that kept him sidelined for several months. Not only did Kuric manage to achieve a fully recovery from this ordeal, but returned to action in time to aid his team in the ACB playoffs.
So far he has averaged 10.8 points and 2 rebounds per game in Liga Endesa with Gran Canaria, along with 13.9 points and 2.5 rebounds in Eurocup.
