Polish champion Stelmet Zielona Gora bolstered its frontcourt by signing center Julian Vaughn to a two-year deal, the club announced Friday.
Vaughn (2.08 meters, 27 years old) arrives from the Nymburk of the Czech Republic where he helped the team win League title averaging 5.4 points and 3.2 rebounds, and he also posted 6.5 points and 4 rebounds in VTB League action. The only season big man competed in 7DAYS EuroCup was with PAOK Thessaloniki in 2014-15 season when he helped reach the Eurocup Last 32 by averaging 9.6 points and 4.7 rebounds in 16 games. Vaughn previously played with Port of Antwerp Giants in Belgium, Keravnos in Cyprus and KAO Dramas in Greece.
However it’s interesting that the announced was made also by the 7DAYS Eurocup portal, while the team is reported to be ready to “defect” to Basketball Champions League.
