With a laconic press release, Panathinaikos announced the extension of James Gist‘s contract with the club for two more seasons. As it was revealed the player signed his new deal on Tuesday.
Gist was added to the team two years ago during the Euroleague’s Top16 with a “trade” that send Andy Panko to Unicaja Malaga and since then he is a valuable member of the Greek champions.
The American power forward will earn for the next two seasons one million dollars per season, while Fenerbahce was offering him more money, three years after his departure from Istanbul. However, Gist prefered to stay with Panathinaikos because he likes the team and the city.
