The San Antonio Spurs announced that they have assigned Latvian forward Davis Bertans and American guards Bryn Forbes and Dejounte Murray to the Austin Spurs of the NBA Development League. All three were available for Austin’s season opener today vs. the Oklahoma City Blue.
Not only that, but Bertans scored 22 points, recorded 3 steals, handed out 2 assists, grabbed 6 rebounds, shot 50 percent from the 3-point line and went 7-13 from the field overall in 36 minutes of action in an Austin 95-118 loss against the OKC Blue.
Before being assigned to the D-league, Bertans has appeared in 7 games with San Antonio Spurs, averaging 2.0 points and 1.6 rebounds in 10.9 minutes.
