Evgeny Pashutin’s contract with Lokomotiv Kuban was extended up to the end of the 2022-23 season, the Russian outlet announced on Friday. The 51-year-old Russian head coach returned to Loko for a second stint last December.
“This is a great honor, and I personally want to thank club president Andrey Vedischev for his trust,” noted Pashutin upon closing the deal, “I understand that we are facing ambitious tasks, Lokomotiv holds a victorious tradition, and I will do my best to achieve our goals and live up to the hopes of fans of the entire Krasnodar territory.”
Outed from the 7DAYS EuroCup Regular Season, has since led his side to 13-4 W-L record in VTB United League. Currently on an eight-game winning streak that launched Lokomotiv Kuban to third place behind Khimki Moscow Region and CSKA Moscow.
“Our glorious tradition is connected with Evgeny Pashutin,” added Vedischev, “Winning the EuroCup and debuting in EuroLeague. We are sure that the coach will help us meet our goals.”
The list of targets set includes developing younger players to build for the future of the club and Russian basketball overall, both men confirmed.
