Lokomotiv Kuban players and employees that were in Tallinn for the VTB League game against Kalev are now in quarantine after a member of the Estonian team was tested positive for coronavirus.
“The team is in home isolation. Everyone feels normal and no symptoms of the virus are detected. The team and the coaching staff are being tested for the virus,” Lokomotiv Kuban president Andrey Vedischev said in a statement published on the Russian club’s website.
Lokomotiv Kuban beat Kalev in Tallinn on March 12. It was one of the few basketball games held around Europe since most leagues had been either suspended or canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Two days later, Kalev announced that one of its members was tested positive for coronavirus.
VTB had suspended all action on Friday.
Only the Turkish BSL League, the Russian SuperLeague and the English BBL League are being played right now in Europe. The competitions hold their game behind closed doors.
