Former Wisconsin standout and NBA player from 2015 to 2019, Sam Dekker described his wild day via a couple of posts on Twitter. The Lokomotiv Kuban forward learned that international flights from Russia will be suspended and hopes to back in the USA as soon as possible.
“Currently aboard to Moscow and then hopefully to Istanbul and then back to the States tomorrow,” he wrote regarding his packed schedule for Thursday and Friday, “Crazy circumstances but hoping it goes smoothly!”.
The VTB United League is among the competitions on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic. Dekker was averaging 11.3 points and 4.9 rebounds per VTB match, also posted 13.1 points per 7DAYS EuroCup contest before his side was eliminated.
“I appreciate everyone working extra hard to ensure people around the world can get to their families. And to the staff at Lokomotiv Kuban for making all of this possible today,” he added, “A lot of people here are working overtime for us right now and for that, I’m thankful and very humbled.”
