CSKA continued strongly in the preseason and logged a 106-59 win against MBA, advancing to the Gomelsky Cup Final where they will clash against PARMA which beat CSKA-2 with 87-75 on the scoreboard.
Mike James led the way for CSKA with 16 points while Will Clyburn and Darrun Hilliard helped with 13 each. Clyburn also grabbed eight rebounds.
The 2020 Gomelsky Cup was initially supposed to feature Panathinaikos, Crvena Zvezda, and Lokomotiv Kuban in addition to the host CSKA Moscow who won nine titles since the tournament was founded in 2008.
However, the Greek and Serbian teams opted out due to complicated traveling procedures while Lokomotiv followed as well due to pandemic related reasons.
