Zenit St Petersburg stunned CSKA Moscow with a 74-71 win on the road in VTB League on Saturday to bounce back and improve to a 15-2 record in the overall standings.
Kevin Pangos paced the visitors with 17 points and 6 assists, Austin Hollins and Will Thomas had 13 points each and Arturas Gudaitis tapped 10 points and 9 rebounds.
In the wake of Mike James’ absence and the injuries of big men Nikola Milutinov and Tornike Shengelia, Johannes Voigtmann stepped up for the Army Team with 19 points, Daniel Hackett had 14 and Darrun Hilliard added 13.
Will Clyburn returned to action for CSKA after remaining sidelined with an ankle injury since late December and posted 8 points and 2 rebounds in 17 minutes.
Action continues Sunday as the fifth VTB League All-Star game takes place in Moscow.
