Daniel Hackett scored 20 points and dished out seven assists as CSKA Moscow beat Zenit St. Petersburg 85 – 71 in Game 4 of the VTB League semifinals to win the series 3-1. CSKA will face Unics Kazan for the championship.
Will Clyburn and Darrun Hilliard added 13 points apiece for CSKA while Toko Shengelia finished the game with 12 points. The “Army Men” held a steady lead in the game after the first 11 minutes and made a 11 – 3 run in the fourth period to enter the final four minutes with a double-digit advantage that kept them safe until the end.
Kevin Pangos finished with 18 points plus seven assists, Billy Baron scored 16 and Tarik Black had 13 points plus nine rebounds in Zenit’s last game of the 2020-21, a landmark year for the club. The St. Petersburg side had completed the VTB regular season at the first place in the standings while also making the EuroLeague playoffs for the first time.
