CSKA Moscow is one win away from claiming the VTB League championship title and they can do it at home. The “Army Men” had a tremendous defensive game to beat Unics Kazan 76 – 57 on the road and take a 2-0 advantage with two away wins in the best-of-five series.
Tornike Shengelia led CSKA‘s effort with 18 points and seven rebounds while winning 10 fouls from his opponents. Semen Antonov added 16 points plus six boards.
Okaro White (15 points, eight rebounds) and Jamar Smith (11 points on 4-15 shots) were Unics’ top scorers. Their team fell behind 16 – 24 in the first quarter and 31 – 50 at halftime with CSKA not allowing them to come back in the game.
