Oklahoma State alumnus and current Astana point guard Anthony Hickey emerged with a memorable triple-double performance to break this season’s scoring record in the VTB United League.
Hickey scored 43 points on 7-13 threes, to go along with 11 assists and 10 rebounds in 39 minutes, to help Astana snap a seven-game losing streak and upset Lokomotiv Kuban with an 87-83 victory at home. 29-year-old Hickey left the court with a PIR of 50, a new career-high as well.
Antonio Campell added up 14 points for Astana and Skylar Spencer had a double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds, as Astana reached just their third victory of the season in the competition.
With Johnathan Motley still sidelined, Errick McCollum led the efforts of Lokomotiv with 17 points, 6 assists, while Jaylen Barford, Darius Thompson, and Alan Williams all scored 11 points each.
