Alexey Shved and Nikola Milutinov partnered up for CSKA Moscow and led the team to an 80-72 win over Nizhny Novgorod.
Shved shot 3-7 from two and 3-8 from three but also scored 11-11 from the free-throw line on his way to 26 points. Nikola Milutinov scored 21 on 6-8 from the field and 9-13 from the stripe.
The Serbian center also grabbed 12 rebounds. For Nizhny, Mikhail Kulagin scored 20 and Ivan Strebkov 18 points. The latter also dished out eight assists.
Nizhny put up a fight early on and was even up by 11 points (31-20) in the second quarter but CSKA rather quickly turned the tables. The hosts were the ones with a 42-37 lead at halftime and continued the momentum in the second half as well.
CSKA improved to 15-3 at the top of the VTB League standings while Nizhny Novgorod sits in seventh place with 5-9.
