Alexey Shved scored a team-high 21 points to lead CSKA Moscow to an 86-72 victory over Lokomotiv Kuban in Game 2 of their VTB League semifinals series. CSKA leads the race 2-0 and is one victory away from returning to the competition’s finals.
Allerik Freeman added to Shved’s efforts with 20 points on 6-of-11 FG, Nikola Milutinov contributed a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds for CSKA and Will Clyburn tapped 9 points.
Errick McCollum led Lokomotiv with 18 points, Stanislav Ilnitskiy added a double-double of 14 points and 10 assists and Johnathan Motley scored 14 points and 8 assists.
Game 3 of the series is underway Tuesday (May 10, 13:00 CET) in Krasnodar, where Loko will seek to avoid a sweep.
Powered by “Super Mario” Hezonja’s double-double, UNICS Kazan currently leads the series against Zenit St Petersburg 1-0. Game 2 of the series is scheduled for Sunday (May 8, 15:00 CET) in St Petersburg.
