Partizan Belgrade lost to Zenit St. Petersburg 65 – 81 and failed to advance to the 2022 VTB SuperCup Final. The Serbian side will face Unics Kazan for third place in the competition while Zenit will play vs. CSKA Moscow in the Final.
James Nunnally scored 18 points and Yam Madar had 15 points, six assists, and five steals for Partizan. Zeljko Obradovic‘s players led 37 – 40 at halftime and 44 – 51 in the late third period but everything turned upside down.
Zenit made an impressive 20 – 2 run to go up 64 – 53 at the beginning of the fourth quarter and then even took a 21-point advantage down the stretch while Partizan collapsed.
Dennis Zakharov (16 points), Thomas Wimbush (14 points, five rebounds), and Igor Volkhin (11 points, six assists) led the winning efforts of Zenit.
CSKA beat Friday Mega Bemax 101-76, while Zenit had lost by one point to Lokomotiv Kuban (74-73) and earlier on Saturday Unics also beat Mega 78-69.
