Fenerbahce Beko completed the 2023 VTB SuperCup tournament in third place after defeating Nizhny Novgorod 82 – 80.
Johnathan Motley led Fenerbahce with 22 points and five rebounds, making 5-6 key free throws in the last decisive minutes. Marko Guduric added 14 points, Nate Sestina scored 12 and Yam Madar had 11 points.
For Nizhny, Bryon Allen dropped 19 points while veteran Andrei Vorontsevich posted 12 points plus five rebounds. Mikhail Belenitsky notched 12 points plus six boards.
Earlier, Besiktas won fifth place by beating powerhouse CSKA Moscow 91 – 87 behind Matt Mitchell’s 19 points and Jonah Matthews’ 18 points. Casper Ware went off for 41 points but they weren’t enough for CSKA.
