Alex Poythress officially returns to Zenit

It’s official, Alex Poythress has returned to Zenit St. Petersburg.

As the Russian club announced, the US center signed a one-year deal, until the end of the 2024/25 season.

Poythress first joined Zenit in 2020, and during his two years in St. Petersburg, he helped the team advance to the EuroLeague playoffs for the first time in his first season. In the second, he won the VTB League and the Russian Championship.

After that, he played for Maccabi Tel Aviv, and then spent last year with Olimpia Milano, averaging 7.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in the Italian championship and 5.3 points and 2.7 rebounds in the EuroLeague.
