Aleksa Avramovic completes his move from Partizan to CSKA

Confirming recent rumors, Aleksa Avramovic officially joined CSKA.

Avramovic, 29, signed a two-year contract, his new team announced on Thursday.

“I am so happy to join CSKA, to put the jersey on, to be a part of such a great and historical club. Can’t wait to start the season,” he commented on joining the team based in Moscow.

After playing in 47 games of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague with Partizan Mozzart Bet over the last two seasons, he moved the Serbian combo guard is moving his talents to the VTB United League.

Per the press release: “Guard Aleksa Avramovic (29 years old, 193 cm) joined our team from Partizan Belgrade. The two-year contract with one of the leaders of the Serbian National Team will come into force after a medical examination in Moscow.

A native of Cacak began his professional career in the Borac team from his hometown. It was there that he achieved his first individual awards, becoming the top scorer and MVP of the Serbian League in the 2015-16 season. Such successes attracted the attention of European clubs to the young player, and he spent the next five years in Italy and Spain, making his mark at Varese, Unicaja and Estudiantes. In 2021, Avramovic returned to his homeland, signing a contract with Partizan, where he played until now, winning the Adriatic League in 2023 and almost depriving future champion Real Madrid of a ticket to the EuroLeague Final Four.

Last summer, the basketball player was remembered by fans for his tenacious defense and aggressive offense in the jersey of the Serbian National Team at the World Cup. At the end of the tournament, Aleksa, coming off the bench, scored 9.9 points along with 1.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists in just 15.2 minutes on the court and helped the team win silver medals.

In the 2023-24 season, the guard performed a similar function at Partizan: as a reserve, he added enthusiasm and energy to the team, becoming one of the team’s key players. In the EuroLeague, he played 24 games (6 starts) with averages of 10.2 points (67.3% of two-pointers), 1.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 0.7 steals in 18.6 minutes, with his most successful performances coming in the meetings with the giants – Aleksa scored 24 points against Maccabi, 30 against Efes, 27 against Barcelona. His statistics in the Adriatic League are 25 games, 10.8 points, 2.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 0.9 steals in 17.6 minutes, in the playoffs of the Serbian League – 4 games, 12.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 0.8 steals in 29.3 minutes.

Currently the basketball player is with the Serbian National Team, which will compete at the Olympic Games. Avramovic will join CSKA after a short rest upon his return from France.”
