Trying to seek revenge after seeing both CSKA Moscow and UNICS Kazan lifting the Russian championship in the past two seasons, Zenit Saint Petersburg decided to bring in Dwayne Bacon, who will play for the first time in his career in the VTB League.
In Monaco’s first-ever EuroLeague season, Dwayne Bacon shone by putting up 14.0 points and 3.1 rebounds per game with the Monegasque side, going only one win away from the Final Four in Belgrade.
Despite trying to come back to the NBA, the 29-year-old scorer never managed to get that opportunity once again and found himself between Shanghai Sharks and Leones de Ponce in 2023-24.
In his last EuroLeague experience, he joined Panathinaikos once the 2022-23 regular season had already started, collecting 16.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. However, the Greens were far from reaching the level found the following season, when they won the EuroLeague in Berlin.
Prior to his overseas move to Monaco, he spent three seasons in Charlotte from 2017 to 2020, while also playing in the G-League with the affiliated Greensboro Swarm. In the 2020-21 season, he had his latest NBA experience with the Orlando Magic, averaging 7.3 points per night.
