Two-time EuroLeague scoring king Alexey Shved is back in Europe. The Russian star guard signed with Zenit St. Petersburg, returning to his country after a one-year stint in China with the Shanxi Loongs.
Before joining the Loongs, Shved was looking for potential EuroLeague opportunities after leaving CSKA Moscow. He last played in EuroLeague in 2022 when the competition banned Russian clubs due to the invasion of Ukraine.
After four years in the NBA, Shved signed with Khimki Moscow in 2015 and emerged as one of the most sensational scorers in the EuroLeague. He won the “Alphonso Ford Top Scorer” award in 2018 and 2022 and made the All-EuroLeague Second Team in 2018. In 2017, he led the competition in assists.
