CSKA Moscow faced some difficulties in the first two games against Nymburk but showed a completely different face in the third. The team from Moscow made the 3-0 by beating its opponents 102 – 87 on the road and became the first team to advance in the VTB League semifinals.
The highly effective CSKA finished the game with 34 assists and five of its players scored in double-digits. The one to stand out among the rest of his teammates was Pavel Korobkov with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Milos Teodosic dictated his team’s rhythm beautifully, finishing the match with 10 assists.
Chasson Randle (20 points), and Michael Dixon (19 points, 5 assists) combined for 39 points in a game where Nymburk shot with an impressive 16/24 from behind the arc. Yet the Czech’s problem lied on the defensive end, since CSKA’s machines worked at full strength, particularly in the first half in which coach Itoudis’ players had scored 57 points, while receiving 38.
The difference they built there was good enough to guide them through the rest of the game, since their hosts could not make the necessary stops required to fight back in a game like this.
