A fantastic Alexey Shved scored a 31 points VTB League season-high while dishing out 6 assists, as Khimki Moscow passed like a fury from Kazan vs Unics, winning 98 – 73.
Through this victory, Khimki improved its record to 13 – 3 and caught up with Lokomotiv Kuban at the third place of the standings, while Unics is fifth at 13/6.
After a balanced 49 – 53 first half, coach Ivanovic’s players returned from the locker rooms in a blazing mode against their opponents. They quickly grabbed a double-digit lead, 51 – 61, in less than two minutes into the third quarter and made it an 18-point game, 55 – 73 near the end of the period.
Despite the 19 points and 4 assists by Keith Langford and the double-double of 11 points plus 14 rebounds by Coty Clarke, Unics was simply unable to hold back the storm that Khimki brought upon them, losing even more ground during the fourth quarter.
Apart from Shved, Sergey Monia flirted with the double-double with 17 points and 9 rebounds while Marko Todorovic added 16 points.
