The Khimki player was awarded with the MVP honor before the team’s clash with Zenit on Tuesday evening.
“It’s nice to be recognized as the best,” said Shved. “However, this award, first of all, is collective, as I play in a team, and my partners create moments for me. I want to thank, first of all, them. I hope we’ll have a lot of matches ahead of us, and that we will be able to please the fans. I will everything that is possible for this.”
Shved averages 22.2 points in 20 VTB league games this season, with 5.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists and he was also named MVP of the Month twice in November and February.
Shved’s team, Khimki, finished 3rd in the regular season with a 19-5 record. The Russian guard was the undisputed leader in Moscow Region, guiding his club to the playoff semifinals.
Joining Shved on the All-VTB United League team are Enisey center Frank Elegar, Avtodor forward Nick Minnerath, Zenit forward Sergey Karasev and CSKA guard Nando De Colo.
