A humongous 33-point performance by Alexey Shved led Khimki Moscow to a narrow 73 – 71 victory over Zenit St. Petersburg and the 2-2 in the VTB League semifinals.
Zenit had two chances to force an overtime in the same last play but both Kyle Landry and Aaron White missed in their 2-point attempts.
The series now heads to St. Petersburg with one game left to find out which team will advance in the finals and subsequently get the ticket to next season’s Euroleague.
Sergey Karasev was the top performer for Zenit with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists while Janis Timma and Kyle Landry droped 10 points apiece.
Viacheslav Zaitsev was the only player scoring in double figures for Khimki apart from Shved, finishing the game with 12.
