We live in the era of Lokomotiv Kuban’s rise. Once again, the Russian team was compelling this past weekend and its 25-game streak in the season is the hot-topic of the European basketball world!
MVP
Frank Elegar
Elegar shined in his team’s road triumph over Enisey (75-49), tapping 15 points and counting 20 points of efficiency. Given Lokomotiv’s domination in the league’s standings and this massive victory on the road, Elegar is rightfully chosen as our MVP for the weekend. The American-Guyanese big man dominated the paint (6/8 from the post) and all that in just 13 minutes of participation!
Lokomotiv on superhero mode
Remember Lokomotiv Kuban’s superhero campaign before the beginning of the season? Seems as if it is brought to life for Sasa Obradovic‘s squad. The team from Krasnodar has achieved its best winning strike in history, with 25 consecutive wins this season. That’s right, the team seems, indeed, invincible. After their broad win in Enisey’s house, they look ahead to the next games, against Buducnost in EuroCup and Avtodor in VTB League. One thing is for sure, this team will give everything it takes to seal another victory.
Shaq McKissic or Vince Carter?
Avtodor might have faced defeat from Khimki, yet there was one key moment in the game when even Khimki’s fans were left stunned! Shaq McKissic threw a deliriously sick one-handed alley-oop dunk on the hosts’ basket, one that you will want to watch over and over again! We know we will, at least.
Notably, despite the loss, Avtodor remains in the playoffs spot, with a 6-6 record.
Unics in Loko’s chase
The top spot in the standings currently belongs to Lokomotiv, yet its far from secure as Unics follows closely behind with notable consistency. Unics faced Parma on Sunday and grabbed a comfortable home win, while its the only other squad to which counts one defeat in the league, with one game less than the pioneers. Let’s see what the future will hold for Dimitris Priftis’ squad!
