Nando De Colo did pretty much everything for CSKA Moscow with buckets (24 points), assists (6) and rebounds (6) in less than 29 minutes, as his team won the VTB League derby against Khimki Moscow 90 – 71.
The French combo guard also hit a key triple that made it 78 – 64 with 3:35 remaining in the fourth quarter. This lance was a part of a decisive 11-0 run that transformed the 73 – 64 into 84 – 64 and basically sealed the victory for the defending champion.
Andrey Vorontsevich also delivered four out of his 17 points during that stretch. He also grabbed 3 rebounds while Cory Higgins added 13 points.
After a balanced game (22-21) in the first 13 minutes, Khimki sustained a 16 – 2 partial score and trailed ever since. Alexey Shved found his rhythm in the second half where he scored 12 out of his 18 points (he also had 4 rebounds and 5 assists) but he, Anthony Gill (10 points) and Stefan Markovic (10 points) weren’t enough for Khimki to counter CSKA‘s offense.
