Unics recorded another one easy win in the VTB League as they had no problems to beat Zenit St. Petersburg on the road 99-82.
The hosts entered the game with a determination to defend a home court winning the first quarter 27-22. However, after the initial period, it was Unics who dominated the floor.
The visiting squad overtook the lead during the second quarter and by the end of the third period, they were up by 11 points(75-64). Their offense was on a high level leading them to a 22nd victory of the season. Unics is now standing on a 22-2 record as they moved up to the top of the standings (CSKA is standing on a 21-2).
Melvin Ejim’s game was too much for the hosts as he had 16 points, 5 boards and 3 assists in 25 minutes on the floor. Jamar Smith was his right hand with 14 points and 4 boards.
Sergey Karasev had game-high for Zenit with 19 points, but he was struggling to score from the field. He scored 10 out of his 19 points from the free-throw line while he was 4-13 from the field.
